Mary Kay Bergman was an American voice actress and animation voice-over teacher.

Bergman was born in Los Angeles, California at the Cedars of Lebanon Hospital. She was the only child of musicians, mother Patricia McGowan Paris and father Dave Bergman, who were both of Jewish descent.

Patricia, from the age of 16, worked inking and painting cels for the original Popeye cartoons, and for animator Max Fleischer, in New York City. Later, she formed a singing duo with her husband and sang in lounges in Reno and Las Vegas, and in Los Angeles clubs. When she was pregnant with Bergman, Patricia and Dave settled in Los Angeles to give their daughter a place to call home.

Being interested in fantasy entertainment, like science fiction and anything Disney, and watching Saturday morning cartoons with her mother, such as Jonny Quest, The Flintstones, and Wait Til Your Father Gets Home, were part of what piqued Bergman's interest in animation.
