Cover of one of the Italian issues of Buzz, featuring Buzz and Zurg.
Buzz Lightyear of Star Command comics have been published in a number of magazines throughout the years, as well as translated in a variety of languages. Some comics feature new stories, while others are episode adaptations.
Five comics were published in the US in Disney Adventures between 2000 and 2001.[1][2][3][4][5] Four of these comics were also published in the UK in Disney's Comic between 2002 and 2004, in addition to several more comics.[6] Several were also reprinted in Disney's Big Time, another UK magazine, which potentially published additional comics.[7] Three of these comics were later reprinted in the Disney One Saturday Morning Adventures comic anthology first published in 2022.[8] All of these comics featured original stories, with the exception of "The Emperor's New Throne," which depicted events that were also shown in the episode "First Missions."
Buzz was published in at least four countries between 2002 and 2005, and featured comics adapted from episodes—or, more accurately, episode plotlines that were merged together and then adapted to comic form—along with full page illustrations and games. The magazine was published in Sweden, Norway, Italy and Brazil. However, the number of issues published varied. In Sweden and Norway, twenty issues were published, but in Italy only ten issues were, and in Brazil only four. [9][10][11][12]
