“Ah, please, sit down. We'll explore this unresolved envy.”

Dr. Animus is a therapist, counselor and psychiatrist.

Physical Appearance[]

Animus is a very slender, pea green-skinned humanoid, with a red mustache and eyebrows, and thick glasses. He wears Star Command colors, and has a thick accent.

History[]

Animus has an office on Star Command, and evaluates the mental health of Space Rangers.

He once examined Buzz Lightyear when he was overly stressed, and recommended that he be sent to Rhizome for some much-needed rest and relaxation.[1]

He also examined XL once who, at the time, was pretending to be XR so he could blow up Star Command.[2]

Personality[]

He comes off as very relaxed and even-tempered, rarely using force unless necessary for the health of the patient. He's not particularly strong, nor does he appear to be a fighter.

Quotes[]

Stress Test[]

  • "Let's try this. Inkblots."
  • "Ah, please, sit down. We'll explore this unresolved envy."
  • "I'm reconsidering your diagnosis."

Trivia[]

  • Dr. Animus's name is a reference to the masculine traits found in the feminine unconscious and personality in Jungian psychology.[3]
  • His accent is remarkably thick and reminiscent of German; likely meant as a stereotype of Freudian psychologists.
